Singer-songwriter and Grammy® nominee Seth Glier knows the challenges of emerging into adulthood all too well. Over the course of just a few short years, Glier has gone from opening act to headlining his own shows as well as major folk festivals, all culminating in a nod from the Grammys® this year for the work he did on his sophomore record, THE NEXT RIGHT THING. Having spent the majority of his teens and early twenties on the road, the now 24-year-old Massachusetts native describes his new album THINGS I SHOULD LET YOU KNOW as "a reckoning with adulthood.”
After 5 years of pursuing music as a solo project, Paul Whitacre was getting a little worn down. Moving from Indianapolis, IN to Denver, Colorado in 2016 lit a new fire for him, but he still longed for a band opportunity.
Mark Cunningham slid into Paul's DM's on August 17th, 2017. Hungry to pursue music more seriously, Mark and his roommate, Brent Perkins, invited Paul over for a jam session. After playing just one song, Paul knew they were on to something.
Paul had already been recording and playing shows with Chase Perry (banjo) & Kyle Miner (electric guitar) for a few months, but was now excited at the notion of a full band. Paul asked Brent and Mark to join the group and, after meeting through mutual friends, also asked Rachel Hartman (Fiddle) to join the band.
Six musicians came together to put on an incredible first show at Globe Hall in Denver on September 8th, 2017. Hyped by the experience, all six committed to pursuing the band seriously.
Quickly gaining a new and passionate fan base, the group re-branded from "Paul Whitacre" to "Whitacre". Supporting Ghost of Paul Revere, Birdtalker and more was an exciting launch to a young and talented band. Keep up with all their continued updates here: http://www.whitacreband.com/
