Giving Americans the chance to “Breathe”

Ryan Star has announced details of his much-anticipated new single. “Breathe” – which will be featured on the acclaimed rocker’s upcoming debut album, entitled “11:59” – is available now at all digital retailers.

The song is accompanied by a provocative companion video and premiered on on October 21st during the 2pm broadcast. The clip sees Star addressing the rising tide of unemployment in the US, performing on the streets of New York among various real people who are currently unemployed. A dedicated website, located at, will enable potential employers to contact the individuals featured in the video.

“I wanted to do something more important than just another typical video,” Star explains. “I wanted a video that was relevant and can make a difference in the real world. Our world. So when I started thinking of how to represent ‘Breathe,’this idea made sense because unemployment is the common thread that I have been seeing everywhere I have been touring. It just feels to me that people everywhere need to hear a positive message, that things will all be ok and that we are here for one another.”

VH1 has announced that they will begin airing the video for “Breathe” starting Monday April 12, 2010!
