Gathering Of The Clouds
Gathering Of The Clouds
March 7, 8, and 9 at The Walnut Room - Denver
The Warlocks
The Warlocks
The Warlocks started because of the their mutual love of all things Rock and Roll. We love a lot of the 60s, 70s and some 80s inspired music. We are not a retro band though. We all always try new stuff and from time to time hit something great.
The music of David Eugene Edwards' Wovenhand is utterly unique, dizzying those who encounter it, with turnings and lashings of shadow and light. In almost every documented encounter with the music of Wovenhand, what is described is an experience so visceral and so universally disorienting, that one has to take note. From the first measures of music, the taste of desert earth is on the lips; neck-hairs snap to attention as strange and unfamiliar sounds whisper just underneath the surge of guitar and the rumble of bass; clouds loom on the horizon promising either the balm of rain or the threat of judgment — it could be either. The smell of horses' breath, like ash, carries with it messages from another place, a place that is at once very very far away and impossibly close... The music of Wovenhand is its own iconography, its own world, its own universe.

We are heading into SiloSound in February 2013 to record our first EP with Jeff Kanan & Nick Sullivan. Until then here are two live sets on Bandcamp that are free to download:

boyhollow is an old goth that plays music for hipsters, indie-rockers, bass-heads, gays, party kids, gender-crushers, meat-heads, woo girls and even the occasional hippie. He doesn’t believe in writing bios containing a bunch of cliches about what an awesome DJ he is. He’d rather be making you dance.

He is the founder of Lipgloss (est. 2001), Denver’s longest running and most awarded club-night. Lipgloss pulls in over 500 people a week and consistently runs at capacity. Lipgloss was instrumental in - if not arguably responsible for - creating Denver’s indie dance scene. He is also resident DJ at Scumbag Sundays at Shag Lounge.

He has worked with, performed at and produced parties with some of music’s biggest names: New Order, Passion Pit, The XX, Girl Talk, Miami Horror, The Juan Maclean, Miike Snow, Yeasayer, !!!, MSTRKRFT, Autoerotique, Figure, Mars Volta, Simian Mobile Disco, Steve Aoki, Bloody Beetroots, Chromeo, Calvertron, Le Castle Vania, Treasure Fingers, VHS or Beta, Le Tigre, Felix Cartal, Fake Blood, Blondie, Interpol, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Crookers, LCD Soundsystem, Guns'n'Bombs, Mustard Pimp, Junkie XL, LA Riots, The Faint, K.I.M. (The Presets), Chuckie, Cool Kids, Muse, Tommie Sunshine, The Klaxons, Devo, The Cars, Toxic Avenger, Daedelus, Snowden, RAC DJ's, The Motherfucking Gaslamp Killer, The Rapture, Airborne Toxic Event, Ghostland Observatory, The Bravery, She Wants Revenge, Mickey Avalon, Electric Six, Paparazzi, Paul Anthony, Bird Peterson, Hot Pink Delorean, Ladytron, Blaqk Audio, Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce (The Smiths), Spencer Moody (Murder City Devils), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Stellastar*, Nadastrom, Anna Lunoe, Keane, Blondie and many more that have fallen into the drunken haze of time.
Tyler Jacobson & Jake Ryan
Tyler Jacobson & Jake Ryan
Tyler “Danger” Jacobson is one of the founding members of Denver 3 who have brought Denver LIPGLOSS every Friday night since 2001 & also Mile High Soul Club. He’s DJ’d with and for some of the most notable names in the business.

Jake Ryan may be the smarter of the duo, but his expertise isn’t in self promotion so this is gonna be quick and to the point. Jake has great taste in music and is one of the founding members behind Split, a night he and Tyler shared in the summer of 2010.

Tyler and Jake host Danger Radio, which left terrestrial radio in 2009 when Indie 101.5 ceased to broadcast, but has remained the last living element of the station through a weekly podcast found at
