Westward Sons was founded by a group of musicians who met and began performing together in 2006 in St. Louis, Missouri while hosting a local open mic/jam show. Westward Sons is a blend of Hard Rock, Blues, and Country influences performed by a four piece rock n roll outfit. The lead guitar work borders on a more traditional hard rock, blues based influence (think Jimmy Page meets Slash) rather than a sonic, spacey sound, keeping the music firmly rooted. The band’s main influences can be heard in Led Zeppelin, Guns n Roses, Pink Floyd, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Westward Sons members include: Tim Perry (electric lead guitar), Richie Darling (vocals, acoustic rhythm guitar), Dave Anson (bass), and Caleb Ward (percussion). The youngest member is Tim (22), and the oldest is Richie (29).

Although the members of Westward Sons have been performing together for a few years, the name Westward Sons is new. Tim and Richie met in college and began performing cover songs as a two piece act entitled Faceless Stallions, doing a “Tenacious D” sort of act. Soon, they added percussion and bass to the band, and began writing original music. When their new album was in the process of being recorded, the band decided to create a new, more accessible name to identify all four members, rather than just be a two piece band with backing musicians. The new album “Rock n Roll Outfit” was released on July 11th 2008 and is available for sale via mail order or at our shows.
