On a mission to “bridge the gap between socially conscious hip hop and mainstream alternative,” Denver, CO natives UmConscious are already gaining momentum thanks to their first single, “The Avenue.” Fuse TV selected the music video to go into its regular rotation starting this April, and the four-piece band has enjoyed local success out-selling major artists and renowned Denver record stores. The hip hop-rock combo has been done before, but UmConscious doesn’t throw it in your face, opting to subtly incorporate intricate guitar work against the smooth delivery and flow of JohnnyDANGER and Boogie B.
