The Alternate Routes are a young rock band out of Bridgeport, Connecticut formed by Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly in 2002 while studying at Fairfield University. The band recorded their debut album entitled Good and Reckless and True in Nashville in 2005.

The record gained national publicity and critical acclaim: Bullz.Eye.com rated it their Top Album of 2005,[1] and the song “Ordinary” won Best Song in the Pop/Rock Category at the 2006 Independent Music Awards.[2] “Ordinary” is also featured in the indie film The Other Side of the Tracks. Various episodes of MTV’s The Hills featured songs from the album in 2007, including “Endless Conversation”, “Are You Lonely?”, and “Who Cares?” “Aftermath” was featured on MTV’s Laguna Beach.

In 2007, the band re-released Good and Reckless and True on Vanguard Records. The signing happened to take place on Thanksgiving morning of 2006, 30 years to the day after The Last Waltz was filmed, a documentary about The Band that the Routes often cite as being very influential to them.

On April 10, 2007, the Alternate Routes performed “Time is a Runaway” on Late Night With Conan O’Brien. On December 21, 2007, The Alternate Routes released a limited edition acoustic CD only available at shows called The Brooklawn Sessions.
