Insightful progressive folk, like John Mayer meeting James Taylor. Tight grooves, soaring harmonies and a vocal style that is soulful, expressive and candid. Jeremy’s new album is “a beautiful collection of folk tunes that gets right to the heart of being human” writes Vail music critic Charlie Owen. It has been called “an Indie Folk Rock treasure” by Colorado Music Buzz Magazine. Jeremy Dion has been named one of the “artists to watch” by award-winning engineer David McGuinness (U2, Pearl Jam, Tom Waits). Jeremy grew up outside Seattle, where he was influenced by the music of Crosby, Stills and Nash, James Taylor, and Paul Simon. Jeremy has been singing, playing guitar, writing songs and performing since he was a student at U.C. Berkley, combining the sounds of his musical influences with a bluegrass twist. Emmy-winning producer Lance Bendiksen (The Fray, Cowboy Junkies, Sarah McLachlan) first discovered Jeremy in 2007. That year, Jeremy teamed up with Bendiksen to complete his debut album “Finally.” Using clever and memorable folk-rock tunes as the centerpiece, Jeremy has surrounded himself with one of the best rock rhythm sections in Colorado. Topped off with a madrigal-style of vocal harmonies, a mandolin from 1909, and world-class musicians such as bluegrass legend and Grammy-winner David Grier, the album swells with talent. Music critic Beeb Ashcroft writes, “Genuine and heartfelt lyrics over lush folk melodies, Finally…is an emotional ride through the singer-songwriter’s psyche. Dion is obviously passionate about his music, and it shows.” “The thing about Jeremy is that he is the real thing, and this shines through his music. You can hear the honesty in his voice and the compassion in his lyrics — we need more of this authentic music in the world!” bluegrass duo Anne and Pete Sibley say. While Jeremy’s music pushes the edges of progressive folk rock, he has shared the stage with bluegrass stars David Grier & Mike Compton, Anne & Pete Sibley, and Denver songwriter Gregory Alan Isakov. Jeremy’s live shows offer a variety of formations including playing solo, with an accomplished acoustic trio, and with a full band. Jeremy has been compared with James Taylor, John Denver, and David Wilcox. In talking about Jeremy’s writing style, one fan wrote, “Dylan writes from a distance about some else’s worst and best day; Jeremy writes with his soul about his worst and best. You learn about everyone else from Dylan — you learn about yourself from Jeremy.” Jeremy performs throughout Colorado, the East Coast, and the Northwest.
