Expo 70

“This music has to be the work of some immortal group of dronelords, sitting in their multidimensional fortress, atop some mysterious lost mountain, who in their infinite wisdom, allow their dreamlike drones and angelic ambience to fall from the sky and settle over us like a light dusting of snow…” – Aquarius Records (San Francisco, CA)
EXPO ’70 is late night improvisations concieved by Justin Wright. Once a member of a group calling themselves Living Science Foundation from Los Angeles, California. Expo ’70 started with Justin Wright, Paul Kneejie (The Pope, Bipolar Beat, White Suits Brown Boots, The Manifolds, etc.) on bass and effects and Bryan Levine (Bipolar Bear), who both started Kill Shaman records. The result was an expansive array of soundscapes and drones inspired by many early gurus of experimental music from around the world.
Now residing in Kansas City, Wright released a number of CDr’s that were picked up and distributed by Aquarius Records, who’s rave reviews compared the project to early Krautrock and Kosmiche bands from the 70’s with the heaviness of today’s premier experimental outfits. Releases continue with the help of Kill Shaman, Diagnosis….Don’t, Boring Machines (Italy), Beta-lactam Ring, Trensmat, Short Forest, Peasant Magik and more, most being limited.
