THE STORY..

From the deep backwoods of The Pacific Northwest, sounds of awe-inspiring upbeat old-time Swamp/Dixie rock n’ roll music have risen to the music scene. Dayton Dean and The River King is a project devoted to keeping all music genre listeners feeling good and entertained! Its boomy, bright and boldly exciting to watch, it sounds like there is a 5 piece rock band on the stage and it never stops being fun to dance with.. It all starts with Lead vocalist and songwriter Dayton Dean plays a unique dixieland style of guitar on an solid steel bodied amplified resonator and his powerful soul-rusty vocal melodies are appreciated among the most critical of listeners. Although, the real entertainment stems not from watching Dean play guitar or sing, but watching him simultaneously keep these solid upbeat rhythms on his custom built foot operated drum set; This features a bass drum, high-hats and tambourine, crash cymbal and even a old washboard and shaker played with four different foot pedals. Dean’s solid and fascinating muti-talented performance blows all other hokey “one-man-bands” off the map! This huge full band sound is only completed by the addition of The River King, James “Dean” Egan keeping the backbone solid on Double bass and vocals. Listeners are amazed when they hear such a full band sound coming from two men. In addition, this rock and roll tuo is often accompanied by feature guest members on violin, piano and blues harp on most performances and recordings. It’s safe to say that it’s all quite a sight to see and it’s guaranteed you will leave the show inspired and humming the songs the whole way home.
