Caleb Pogyor (pō-zhoor) is a musician living in Pittsburgh, PA., most livable of American cities. His debut album “I’m Talking to You” was released online Oct. 25, 2010, and in hard copy on Jan. 14, 2011. Drawing comparisons to artists the likes of which may or may not include Elliott Smith, The Jesus Lizard, Wilco and Grizzly Bear, Pogyor meshes pop-sensible folk structures with the spontaneous grit of phenomenological reductionism.

“I’m Talking to You” features the playing of Brandon Folk, Josh Gerba, Giuseppe Capolupo and, of course, Caleb himself. Sound engineering and record production was graciously handled by Brandon Folk, with additional sound engineering from Josh Gerba. Pogyor performs live with a band whose members vary from show-to-show. Live musicians have included members of Signal to the Ocean Estate, a group Pogyor lead from 2007 – 2009 and disbanded thereafter.

Caleb Pogyor’s artistic project is to resuscitate the power of popular music to move its audience—not through excess sentimentality or spectacular sainthood, but through songs whose lyrical and musical integrity derive from a movement toward honest human expression, if (woe!) such a thing is possible in the 21st Century.

Join Caleb Pogyor as he dives headlong into the fractured skull of modern man and examines promenades and park benches for she-devils therein. Oh, won’t you please let the good child win!
