Established in 2006, BreakEFX was created to offer a breath of fresh air to the urban dance entertainment
industry and dance education community. Under the direction of Eppie Deleon, the BreakEFX crew is
comprised of dancers ranging in age from mid-teen to early 30s. Encircling an ethnically diverse, multi-
talented, & passionate array of dancers, teachers, performers and choreographers, BreakEFX is an energized
organization with a drive for inspiration.Setting themselves apart from similar dance crews both locally and
nationally, their mix of cutting edge choreography, comedic relief, acrobatics and energy has made
BreakEFX, simply Colorado’s Best Dance Crew.
Performances bring audiences a rush of energy unlike any other and their 2009 debut production of
SLANGIN JOY” proved that, even less forgiving critics, are blown away by "BreakEFX dancers (who) have
way more than “attitude.” They have amazing skills as dancers and actors."

BreakEFX won the 2008 Colorados Best Dance Crew title and the Verve Hip Hop Competition in both 2008 & 2009. They were featured performers for Summer Jam 2008, sponsored by 95.7 featuring Boys II Men and were guests of the Denver Hip Hop Festival 2008. They are frequently showcased at performances, community events, and festivals up and down the Front Range.Above all else, BreakEFX is known for their youth outreach and K-12 involvement including work for Jefferson County, Boulder County, Prowers County, Crowley County, and Alliance Nebraska public school systems. They take their love of dance and the hip-hop culture to Colorado schools with workshops, lectures and performances in effort to nurture youth art
awareness and stimulate positively charged futures. The BreakEFX crew pride themselves in reaching out
to the community with liveliness and inspiration. As many in the industry know, legendary choreographer
Gary Kendell passed away in December of 2007. Gary was not only the founding member of the
Jabbawockeez Dance Crew, Mindtricks originator, Monster Shop Bumpin Show director, master
choreographer, and musical genious… he was a life saving mentor to more than half of the country’s
aspiring hip hop dance community. Closer to home, Gary was a very close friend to artistic director,
Eppie Deleon as well a teacher/mentor to many of the BreakEFX crew members. Gary spent his final
year of life in Colorado, loving and inspiring us with his thoughts, movement and messages.
Everytime BreakEFX crosses a stage, we do it for Gee.
