Beats Noir

Beats Noir began as an experiment.
As with all experiments, its conductors were unsure what to expect when they set out to combine J.T. Nolan’s love of Americana and Rock n Roll with Paul Mullikin’s background in Hip Hop and Jazz.
The excellent rhythm section of Matt Skellenger on Bass and Dave Miller on Drums and Beats rounds out this amazing quartet.
Their collaboration leads to an intriguing blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, infectious beats, catchy hooks, and undeniable musicianship. The result is equal parts style and substance- big, bold, intelligent, fun music that will make you move.
13 Tracks From the Dark Side of the Beat, the self produced debut album from Beats Noir, was released on September 16th, 2011.
The first single “Castaways” was nominated into the finals of 93.3 KTCL’s Home Town for the Holidays 2011 band competition.
The band closed out 2011 with a sold out NYE show at Dazzle Jazz Club.
