Alexis Babini

With a staggering amount of new music and tour dates, alternative pop songwriter Alexis Babini has been extremely busy. After spending months in the studio, he finally answered demands for a release in March of 2009 with his debut EP ‘Breaking It In’ under the guidance of renowned producer Ed Valauskas (Best Producer 2008 Boston Music Awards). Upon the release of the EP, Alexis hit the road, sharing the stage with established acts such as Blues Traveler, Boz Scaggs, Ken Block (of Sister Hazel) and Benjy Davis Project.
In March of 2010, two of Alexis’ songs were featured in an episode MTV’s “Real World DC”, which led to a performance at the legendary SXSW festival in Austin, TX. In July, Alexis will embark on a 20 date national tour, supporting Tony Lucca and Ernie Halter.
This New York-based 23-year-old incorporates a diverse blend of contemporary pop/rock with an occasional nod to folk classics, earning comparisons from James Taylor to David Gray. In his own words: “Yes, my music is hook-based and catchy, but there’s also a sense of honesty I try to convey with my songs.” In a review from Performer Magazine, Alexis’s songwriting has been described as ‘Powerful, gripping melodies and simple, yet evocative lyrics… pervasive.’.
