A painting, a lightning bolt, a glacier. All are relative when describing the music of aenka. Heavily improvised, aenka explores new ground with its genre-bending musical journeys and sound structures. Similar to glaciers, no two shows are alike, each little crack and bubble make it unique. Their music is scattered at times like an expressionist painting or electric pulses of energy through a room, yet it maintains a jazzy backbeat. Aenka is influenced by the ideas of Sun Ra and Keith Jarrett, who believed in capturing magical music moments never to revisit them again.
